Help with wiring Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd Generation)

GABoy

I went through the installation process on the Nest app.  The first picture is how my old thermostat was wired.  The second picture is how the app told me to wire up the Nest Learning Thermostat.

When I set it to cool, hot air was coming out of the vents.  Any help is appreciated!!!!

Hi GABoy,

Thanks for reaching out to us, and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. Please answer the following:

  1. What is the make and model of your cooling and heating system, including the make and model of the fan-coil or air-handler units?
  2. Does your HVAC system use a multi-speed or variable-speed fan?
  3. Did you check the O/B wire configuration and try changing the O-wire to B-wire configuration or vice versa?
  4. Are the breakers turned on?
  5. Did you recently experience a brownout or blackout?
  6. Did you have any construction or maintenance work done on your home?
  7. Do you see any message or code on your thermostat?
  8. Lastly, go to Settings > Technical Info > Power of your thermostat to gather its power readings.
    • Battery
    • VOC
    • VIN
    • IIN

I'll look forward to your response.

Best,

Zoe
