Going away for extended period and want to set heat to remain at 55 degrees.  cannot do it.  Learning Nest has a "Lock" feature that allows me to lock temp range within parameters, but the schedule overrides the lock.  How can a accomplish this goal?

If you have a schedule (or Auto Scheduling turned on) it will override your manual setting when it hits your next schedule point.  You can turn Auto Scheduling off if it's already on.  The next work-around would be to change the Mode from Heat to Heat+Cool.  Each mode has it's own scheduling so if there's a schedule for Heat, it will not be present in Heat+Cool.  Try switching to Heat+Cool, set your heating temp to 55, and set the cooling temp considerably higher - like 80 or so.
