Was it to change it from O to B? I did that on the Nest itself and it didn’t change anything.

Seems to be a common occurrence. Can’t find a fix for it. Put the old thermostat back in, and it works fine. My HVAC guy’s recommendation was to keep the old style thermostat.

Support fixed it. Had to change a setting in the App.

How do you have your thermostat wired?

Can you post a picture of the original thermostat's wiring?

When the Home App asked about which wires you have, what did you enter?

Can you share what you changed? I might be having the same issue on mine

In the app they had me change from “O” to “B”.

Sorry, but Nest sucks. Was told mine was out of warranty and nothing could be done. My old fashioned thermostat worked. Bought an Ecobee and it works. Why would the Nest not activating the reversing valve. I now have an expensive paperweight. Will do the opposite of recommending Nest to anyone.

Hi MP3,

I'm sorry to hear that the step didn't work for you. It's possible that there's an issue with the OB terminal of your Nest Thermostat. I'm sorry to hear that it's already out of warranty. We're sad to see you go. We're always here if ever you change your mind.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi folks,

@Patrick, thanks for the help!

@Ksweat, I'm glad to hear that you were able to get the issue fixed. Please observe it for now and let us know if anything comes up.

@MP3 and cstan, If your system starts to blow cool air when your Nest thermostat is in Heat mode (or if it blows warm air when its in Cool mode), please try changing the settings for orientation of your heat pump. You can click on this link to learn more about this.

Thanks,

Edward
