I couldn't connect it to my house Wi-Fi but with my cell phone hotspot Wi-Fi, I can connect it.

I tried to connect this thermostat to my house’s internet network, but I failed every time the application told me to try again. I tried several times and failed. Then I tried to connect it to the hotspot Wi-Fi on my phone, and I succeeded the first time.

After that, I tried to change the Wi-Fi network from the setting in the HOME app from the hotspot Wi-Fi to my house’s Wi-Fi, but I faced the same problem again. It refuses to connect to the house's network, and I do not know why. It always tells me to try again, Please help.

Thank you.

Make sure you are connecting to 2.4mhz and also not via a wi-fi sender/extender. Direct from the router you need, or the best way.

Hello everyone,

I'm jumping in to make sure everything is covered here.

Thanks for the input, @Frustratedddd.

@myousif, I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with connecting your thermostat to your house's Wi-Fi network. It's great that you were able to successfully connect it to your phone's hotspot initially.

To troubleshoot the issue with connecting to your house's Wi-Fi, here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Ensure that you are entering the correct Wi-Fi credentials (SSID and password) when attempting to connect to your house's Wi-Fi. Double-check for any typos or mistakes.
  2. Confirm that the thermostat is within range of your Wi-Fi signal. If the signal is weak, consider moving the thermostat closer to the Wi-Fi router to see if that resolves the issue.
  3. Please check your Wi-Fi router settings. It’s very rare for router settings to be the cause of this problem, but here are the only settings you need to check. Refer to your router’s manual for instructions on how to do the following:
    1. Turn on your router’s 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal.
    2. Enable 802.11 b/g/n if you have an 802.11 ac router.
    3. Set your Wi-Fi router's DHCP lease time to at least 2 hours.
    4. Turn on your router’s Power Save Mode (PSM) if you have a Nest Thermostat.

I hope this helps, and let us know if you have more questions.

Best regards,
Mark
