Hi Davidle,

Thanks for reaching out. I'd love to know more about this. Could you share the model of your current thermostat? Also, what type of HVAC system do you have?

Thanks,

Edward

Hello there,

I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

@Davidle, It appears to be compatible with the Nest Learning Thermostat. Make sure to follow the wiring diagram on your thermostat. In addition, the wire labeled "L" could be an indicator light. Nest Thermostats do not need this wire, as they use their LCD display instead of an indicator light.

@Mainak, Thanks for posting on this thread. to know your system's compatibility with the Nest Learning Thermostat. Could you also send us a picture of your thermostat's wiring diagram? I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark

Hi Mainak,

Thanks for posting your thermostat wiring diagram. Big help!

Nest Thermostats don’t use jumper wires, but if your current thermostat has a jumper wire, your system may still be Nest compatible. Make sure to follow the wiring setup when you install it with the Nest Thermostat.

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Mark

Hello Everyone, thanks for checking with me. I could not proceed with installing the thermostat because I’m not able to figure out which wires go where the last time I was trying to work on the circuit diagram.

I will try again and post the results. It will be great if someone can validate

Hello Mainak,

Thanks for getting back to us. I understand that wiring can be confusing, but here's how you should label your system's wires to the Nest Thermostat:

  • Y (yellow)
  • G (green)
  • W (white)
  • R (red)

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Regards,

Mark
