I have traditional boiler with taco multizone controllers and 4 thermostats per floor in a two family house that has h traditional Honeywell two wire thermostats that I wish to replace with Nest 2020 thermostats that require 3 wires one appearing to be a “common” wire. How can I install these without needing to rewire the entire house? All that is needed at the boiler is a switch closure activated by the thermostat when the room temp goes below thermostat set temp. This switch closure opens a zone valve, fires the boiler and turns on the circulator pump sending hot water to the radiators which in turn heat up the room and raise the room temp until the thermostat is satisfied.
there is no AC, heat pump, air handler, sprinkler system (joking)
help me please! im a plumber and i need a basic technical overview for this configuration and nothing else. Ive scoured the website and found every conceivable configuration except the moat basic hydronic system such as mine and spoken for hours on the phone to non technical people who have no clue what im talking about!

Hi Gemarron,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats. Could you send us a photo of the current wiring configuration of the Honeywell thermostat so we can take a closer look? Also, you may use our Compatibility Checker to determine if a Nest thermostat is compatible with your 2-wire radiator hydronic multi zone system.
Keep us posted. We're happy to help.
Best,
Zoe
