Hello,
I have purchased a Google Nest Thermostat (not the "Learning" version) that I want to install with my Amana ASZC16 series heat pump. This heat pump has two-stage cooling and a two-speed fan motor. I noticed on the Nest box that it says that "The Nest Thermostat can control...; and fans, one speed". It was not clear to me if this meant that the Nest Thermostat will *not* work with a heat pump that has a two-speed fan. Will this Nest Thermostat work with my system? Thank you!

I have the same question. Any techs out there?

Hi everyone,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We'd be happy to take a look into this for you. @jmangum, send us a photo of your heat pump control board wiring and the previous thermostat wiring (if you still have a photo of it).
@BSSWE, do you have the same kind of thermostat and heat pump? If not, please answer the following:
Keep us posted.

Hello jmangum,
Thanks for the update. I’ve reviewed the photo and heat pump details you sent us, and this can work with our Nest Thermostat. But for the two-speed fan, you can wire it as it is, but it will only operate the fan as a single-speed fan.
You can learn more about this on our page: Fan compatibility with Nest thermostats.
I hope this will help. Let us know if you have more questions or concerns
Thanks,
Renz.

Thank you for the information @RenzJ . Very helpful. I am a little annoyed, though, that the compatibility checker did not flag the fact that my system was not compatible with a Nest Thermostat (but apparently *is* compatible with a Nest Learning Thermostat). I guess I will have to look into returning the Nest Thermostat, as I do want the energy efficiency that comes with a two-speed fan. Thank you again for your help.
