Is it compatible with my red and white wires?

I have a Honeywell programmable thermostat. I'm trying to use the nest thermostat. My current hookup only has a red and a white wire connected to thermostat coming out of my wall. There is a jumper on the thermostat but I think that was installed by the factory. Will the nest thermostat work on my system?

Hello Pter,

Thanks for posting to the Google Nest Community forum. I'd be happy to take a look into this for you.

Google Nest thermostats don’t use jumper wires, but if your current thermostat has a jumper wire, your system may still be Nest compatible and there's no need to connect it. Also, to avoid power issues, you might need to connect the Nest Power Connector or a common or C wire to consistently deliver power to thermostat.

Here are some references to help you install your new Nest Power Connector on your HVAC system.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions in mind.

Best regards,

Mark

Hello. Installed the adapter. Still no good. Nest rep on phone for 1 hour still no good. Easy to install still no good. Nest stats not compatible. To get an electrician does not make sense. Costs too much to make it compatible.  Very disappointed.

Hi there,

Thanks for the update and I'm sorry if you have to go through this. We'd like you to have a better experience.

To better look into this for you, do you mind me asking for the Case ID number from the previous support that you spoke with? Also, could you tell us the make and model of your equipment?

I'll look forward to your response.

Best regards,

Mark
