Issues with Nest settings

Hi all! I’m having issues this year with my Nest Cool and Eco settings that I didn’t last year. For reference I also can’t adjust my safety temps as well, which are stuck at 🥶45°F&95°F🥵…. My Nest while set on cool keeps resetting to 79°F. I live in the southern US and it’s already getting hot at mid-day. My Eco temps setting wont let me set the cool to start any lower than 78°F, the heat setting is adjustable up to 68°F. None of this happened in the last 3 years, I’ve never had an issue as my Eco was set at 62°F/74°F. I have furry and scaly pets that need temp controls in a certain range. Apps and everything are UTD on software/firmware.  I’m at a loss, the troubleshooting articles haven’t helped. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Is it possible that you have Home/Away Assist turned on?  If you turn that off, you should (if the Nest is working properly) be able to get your heating and cooling to obey whatever schedule you want, and never switch itself to Eco temperatures.

(I apologize if I didn't understand your question.  Possibly you rely heavily on Home/Away Assist and don't want to give it up.  I also can't explain why Eco worked well for you last year but not now.)

I do have the home/away on. I do depend on it, but I’ll turn it off and see what happens. Thanks!

Unfortunately I got sidelined with a family emergency. I just turned the home/away assist off. Fingers crossed something changes, although I wish I could use the H/A assist since I like it.

We'll observe the behavior of your thermostat by disabling the Home/Away Assist for a couple of days. Let us know how it goes by replying to this thread.

After almost a week with the H/A off it seems the only way my AC will cool and stay cool is with the straight Cool setting, not Heat/Cool AND I had to turn off the leaf as well. I really don't know whats wrong with it, I wonder if some sort of ‘factory reset’ is in order? Thanks for helping me with this!

Also, I just noticed that with the H/A off the thermostat continues to go back to a 79° setting.
