Nest 2nd gen compatibility with Burnham Alpine condensing boiler

Alregan
Community Member

I have 2 uninstalled nest 2nd gen thermostats that “MAY” work with my Burnham Alpine condensing boiler according to Google’s compatibility docs. . Before I hook them up and fry my $1200 main board, is there a definitive way to figure out if I need power to the C wire from an external power source? I’ve been told from a Burnham tech not to pull power from the main board. Anybody else have this dilemma?

Thanks

Hi Alregan,

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.

Nest thermostats are designed to use very little power, and in many cases they can use your system's heating and cooling wires to get enough consistent power. But sometimes, you may need to connect a common wire (C wire) or power accessory, like the Nest Power Connector, to make your system compatible.

Check out this link to know more.

Best regards,

Ryan
