Currently i have a hot water boiler for baseboard heating and separate central a/c.
There are 5 connections : Rc, Rh, W, Y and G.
There is no C wire...
Looking at videos online using an external VIIVRIA 24v power adapter it says to tape off the Rh (ignore it) and use the wires from the adapter and plug them into the thermostat's Rh and C connectors and also plug in the Rc, W, Y and G to their terminals on the thermostat..
Is that correct or do I need to re-connect the Rh somewhere ?

Hi johnH_nj,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest in our Nest Thermostats.
I see that you have a dual transformer system since you have both an Rh and an Rc wire. With this, only the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation will work for you and should be wired to the thermostat base as follows:
Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of a Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation.
Let us know if you have any other questions. We're happy to help.
Best,
Zoe

Hello there,
Thanks for looking into this, Zoe.
@johnH_nj, to make sure its configuration is correct, can you share with us a photo of your thermostat's wiring setup? I'll look forward to your response.

Mark

It's me again. Below is how your thermostat wires should be connected to a Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation.
Reach out if you have any questions in the future.
