Nest Leaning 3rd get -battery at 3.74V - tried to charge with micro usb - 3 hrs - green light blinking the whole time.
Reinstalled the unit - battery still 3.74 V. Unit still maintains temperature and schedule but will not connect to wifi.
Done most of the recommended things, turn power off/on, restarted +++, reboot modem etc. Bought the unit about 1 year ago and worked ok until about 2 weeks ago. Help.

A factory reset could clear the problem, but you may have done that?
Where did you purchase, a retailer? UK?

Reset done. Didn't work.
Purchased from Amazon.

I would say in that case, faulty without a doubt.
Talk to Amazon as they are the retailer you purchased the thermostat from, they are your first point of call in the UK. They are responsible to get repaired, as it's not lasted a reasonable length of time.
