Hi,
is there any other way, other than altering Eco, to maintain the temperature while out of the house. Here is the problem. I am on vacation for a week in winter and have Eco set to 55. A day before my return, I stop Eco and set the temperature to 68 to “warm” not so much the house as the walls, bed, floors etc. When I return home, because no one has been around, the Nest has reverted to Away and everything takes a day to warm up. I have got round it by resetting the Eco low temp higher a day before my return. But then I have to remember to set it lower again for the next time I am away. Any other way?
Thanks

Have you tried turning off Home/Away Assist, so that the Nest stops watching for activity and just obeys your remote commands? That works on our model. We do the same thing -- turn off Eco as we're on our way home. (We don't use Home/Away Assist at all.)

Hey folks,
Thanks for responding to this and also for your suggestion, CBFox.
@Armonkiwi, I wanted to drop by and check if this has been taken cared off. If not yet, have you had the chance to try CBFox' suggestion above?
Best,
Melba

Thanks both. I am away right now and did as CBFox suggested; turned off Home/Away.
It does seem to defeat the purpose of powering down when people are not home on an informal basis. However, that doesn’t often happen these days with WFH!
Thank you

Hi Armonkiwi,
You're welcome and we understand how you feel. Once you're back, you may turn back on the Home/Away assist feature again. Feel free to let us know should you have more questions soon.
Best,
Melba

Hey there,
Since it's been since this thread was last updated, we'll be locking it if we won't hear back from you again within a day. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.
Best,
Melba
