Making nest portable

Hi. I have my Nest 3rd Gen on the wall in my hall but I think it's not accurately detecting the temperature of the rooms we are in so I was looking to take the thermostat off the wall and attach to a stand in the living room when we are there. When I take it off the wall it just states that I need to connect it back to the wall again so I'm not sure how I can get it to work portably? Is this possible or what can I do? I do like the Nest system but gradually I've had more issues that should be easy to do but I can't. It makes me want to look at alternate thermostats.

@Dancingtramp , What you need to do is purchase a Nest Remote Temperature sensor and place that sensor in the living room.  Then when you are in the living room, use the nest app and set the remote temperature sensor as the primary source.

Thanks. Yes I thought about this but I couldn't see any to purchase.  Also I was messing the app and it's saying I need an update but none are available.

Apologies. I should have said I'm in UK so we can't get the temperature sensors. I'm looking into using some other smart thermometers to try to integrate into my heating routines.
