I have a few Nest Learning Thermostats in our home that are connected to a radiant heating system. I travel alot and want to turn the heat off completely while I'm gone.
I have the thermostat set as follows:
Home/Away Assist = OFF
Auto Schedule = OFF
However, when I turn the thermostat down before a trip, when I get back, I find that it has been turning on. When I look at the schedule, I can see it coming on at various times.
How can I turn the thermostat 100% off while traveling?
Thank you.

Your thermostat will now only tell your system to heat or cool your home when the temperature reaches your safety temperatures. If needed you can also turn off safety temperatures, but that's not recommended.

I had a similar issue over Christmas. I had set the Home/Away option to Away and thought this setting would do what you say Heat Off does. This is the first winter we’ve had Nest so still learning. What’s the difference between Away and Heat off?

@Sarah1722, Thanks for posting to this thread.I'm happy to help you with this.
If you're in "Away" status, your thermostat would automatically switch into Eco mode with the temperatures you've set. But when the "Heat" is off, you're either not calling or activating your system, and it's in ready status. Please have a look at this article and let us know if you need more help.
