Need help with wiring before I buy a Nest Thermostat

Hi All,

I watched the videos and the installation looked straight forward. So I took a look at my wiring and wanted to get some help before I made a purchase.  Seems like I have a lot more wires that I was expecting.

 Any help would be much appreciated it!

Nest learning would work. Looks like you have a heat pump system with 2nd stage or back up heat. The wires you have would go on nest as follows:

red to R or Rh or Rc

Green to G

Yellow to Y or Y1

white to W2 or aux 

orange to O/B

blue to C

configure your system for heat pump forced air & then choose Option O under O/B setting. Hope that helps. Good luck.
