One of my three nest thermostats will not connect to the internet. I get an M15 code and have attempted to factory reset several dozen times and continue to get the same code. My other two best thermostats are connected just fine

Hi @Maxcey1,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand that one of your three Nest Learning Thermostats (3rd gen) isn't connecting to Wi-Fi and is also showing the M15 error. I appreciate the time you've spent trying some troubleshooting steps, such as performing a factory reset. Don't worry, I'm here to help.

This error can happen if you interact with the thermostat after starting the setup process but don't complete it in the Nest app. To help you with some troubleshooting steps, I'd like to ask you a few questions.

  • Is your thermostat able to show your Wi-Fi network? If not, can it find other Wi-Fi networks? Go to Settings on the thermostat itself, then navigate to Network to check.
  • Are you trying to connect to the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz network?
  • Has your thermostat ever connected to your network?
  • Have you made any changes to your Wi-Fi network? For example, have you changed the network name, password, or internet service provider?

Please feel free to share any additional details you think might be relevant.

Best regards,
