Hey, My furnace comes on but won’t ignite a flame, so just blows cold air. Hooked up my old thermostat again and it worked just fine. Any thoughts from anyone ?

You Nest might not configured properly for your heating system. Your heating is initialized by the thermostat connecting R to W.  Your seems to be connecting to R to G and not including W.  Please check your nest equipment configuration. Heating FUEL TYPE should be GAS, and HEATING TYPE should be FORCED AIR.  Make shire the wire in W is properly installed.

Hi there,

@CoolingWizard, thanks for assisting.

@Kennystewart80, I'm sorry to hear about the issue you're having with your Nest Thermostat that won't activate the heat. A few things to isolate:

  • What type of HVAC system do you have?
  • When did heating last work?
  • Does the thermostat screen indicate that it’s actively calling for heating?

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Mark
