My original thermostat has 7 wires connected as shown in the first photo.
I've also included a photo of the nest unit. On the left side of the unit I have the wires attached on the right side I think the White wire should go to W1 and the Blue to C - I don't know where to connect the brown wire. (The black was not attached to anything and also was not stripped back.
A guess on my part is the Brown wire is not needed but that is a Wild Guess. If you know the correct answer I would be appreciate the help.

As you are setting it up, it will ask you to verify those terminals.

I meant to say the White wire should go to W1.

Yellow - Y to Y1
Green - G to G
Orange - O/B to OB
Red - R to Rc
White - W2 to W2 (aet as AUX heat)
Blue - C to C
Brown - E to * (set as emergency heat)
