Can someone please tell me if the Nest is compatible to replace a Trane XL600 thermostat that is controlling a heat pump. Attached is a photograph of the Trane thermostat wiring.

Thanks for posting here in the Community forum and for showing interest with our Nest Thermostats. Fortunately, your thermostat wires are compatible with our Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation and should be wired to the Nest Learning Thermostat as shown:
Take note that jumper wire is not needed for a Nest Thermostat so you can disregard it. Also, here's a guide for the installation and setup of your Nest Learning Thermostat.
