Nest Compatibility with Daikin

Joe_Allen

Hello,

I have a Daikin BRC1H71W thermostat running a ducted minisplit (FDMQ18RVJU) with outdoor unit (4MXL36TVJU). I’d like to replace the standard thermostat with a nest, but the installer said they aren’t compatible.

Is this true, or would I be able to install a Nest and retain the same functionality?

Thanks

Hello Joe_Allen,

Welcome to the Google Nest Community, and thanks for your interest in the Nest Thermostat.

It's understandable that you're considering upgrading to a Nest Thermostat for your Daikin ducted minisplit system. Compatibility can be a crucial factor in making such a decision.

Daikin systems often come with proprietary thermostats designed to work seamlessly with their equipment. These thermostats may use communication protocols and features that differ from those of more standard thermostats, like Nest. Compatibility issues could arise if the Nest Thermostat doesn't support the specific communication protocol used by your Daikin system. Please check out the Nest Thermostat compatibility article, and I hope you find the solution that meets your needs.

Regards,
Mark
