I have a Nest E thermostat that won’t turn on. I’ve charged it with a USB charger. It has a flashing green light. I plugged it into my working base in my home but the screen won’t turn on. I’ve held it for 10 seconds. The flashing green will flash orange, but still won’t turn on. It’s not connected to an app so I can’t reset it. The pins aren’t bent. I’m stumped. What else can I do??

@ThreeRiversHall , let’s check and see if the backlight of the display is not working. Get a very, very bright flashlight and shine it into the display and see if you see anything in the background.

Hi ThreeRiverHall,
Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you are experiencing with your Nest Thermostat E not turning on. Don't worry, I can help. I understand that you already connected that thermostat to a USB charger. In this case, I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:
How much time did you charge the device?
Did you try to reset the thermostat manually?
Here is how to reset your thermostat:
Once I have this information, we can proceed with the best solution to this situation.
Please keep me posted.
Best regards,
Jenny

I had the unit charging overnight. The only thing it did was to flash the little green dot at the top. When I pressed & held for 10 seconds the green dot would turn orange for a second then go back to flashing green. A couple times the google logo would appear, but the unit itself would not turn on. I called google support and they weren’t able to help either. Basically, the unit was made in 2022 but since we acquired it in 2024 there was nothing he could do for warranty.
