I’ve had the new Nest installed for about a month now and twice I’ve come home to find that the air isn’t running and the thermostat is asking that I setup the device as if I had just taken it from the box.

I then have to delete the thermostat from the nest app and sync it again.

The first time this happened I thought it was a one off but now that it’s happened twice I don’t believe that’s the case.

Hi Justin,

We're sorry to hear about your malfunctioning Nest! That's surely bizarre that it's stuck in a setup loop. Let's work together to see how we can resolve this issue.

Can you clarify a few details for me?
Have you received any low battery/power error messages, or checked the voltage that your battery charge is at (above 3.6V is ideal)?
Are you receiving the message to set up on the Nest Learning Thermostat's display or in the Google Home app?
Was it working prior to this setup boot cycle?
Let me know any other important details or behaviors your thermostat is displaying.

I look forward to your answer. We're happy to help!
