Nest Learning thermostat - Defect Heatlink

About 1.5 year into using the Nest Learning Thermostat we experienced problems with the Heat Link. It disconnected, probably because of a problem with the power source. We tried a power source connecting at the front of the Heat Link and this worked on/off but still managed to use our thermostat. For about 6 months this was fine, with connecting issues weekly. But the Heat Link has stopped working now, the light is orange and the thermostat cannot connect. What can we do? The garantue period is past date. There is no option to buy a separate Heat Link. And we do need our heating in the Netherlands 😉

We hebben zeker verwarming nodig in Nederland. 😉

It is a known issue with the heat link (I already replaced mine), and according to this Blog, you should be able to get a replacement without an issue. I got the heatsink replaced after the warranty period so my guess is you should be fine.

I contacted Google Nest support by filling out the form without choosing a possible solution and just clicking Next. This will let you chat with Google support (if it are working hours that is) https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Hi, thank you for your help! We Received a new Heat Link and our heating works again. I need to send back our old Heat link, all is fine. Thanx again!
