Used the thermostat for a year, no issues. Set to heat/cool, schedule set. Eco off. Home/away off. Just like a plain scheduled thermostat.
We go on vacation, so I set it to Eco to save some money perhaps. We come back, change it back to normal, trouble starts. When the schedule calls for heat or cool, the app shows orange or blue but it does not actual send commands to the HVAC (no heat or cooling stage 1 or 2 response). If I click on the appropriate Heat or Cool mode, it works immediately.
Done a restart of the thermostat, no change. I was about to do a reset but thought I’d see if anyone had an idea. What would do this or would fix this? Thanks!

This looks like it was a network issue. The wifi had some issues where the thermostat (and other device) could not get a good connection (even though they were connection). If your thermostat shows calling for heat/cool but no response or not responding to schedule (I've seen quite a few), might want to restart router/access point, etc. to be sure! Thanks to those that gave a suggestion, but looks like it was an external issue.

Hi @boaterva
Sorry to hear about that. Maybe if you delete all your schedules and reset the eco temperatures to a different degree, it might be able to reset it.

I’m not using eco, as I stated. I can redo the schedule but that’s not the point either. It’s that the schedule triggers the thermostat but it doesn’t actually do anything. It calls for heat or cool but HVAC doesn’t start.
Makes zero sense that putting it in eco for four days breaks it totally.

Actually, it still doesn't work, and I'm dumping it. There is no reason for it except it died. As I said, nothing changed except the vacation trip in Eco mode and returning it to normal mode. Now it calls for heat for over 15 minutes and doesn't start the furnace. Changing modes makes it work. Useless. This was a freebie when I got other hardware, so, means nothing to me. Even reset the schedule as recommended (which should not matter), no effect as it DOES call for heat, it just doesn't complete the command.

Hi boaterva,
Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to hear that you're still experiencing this. To isolate the issue, please try doing a factory reset on the thermostat. You can click on this link for step by step instructions on how to factory reset it.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Edward

Nope, as I said, I dumped this hardware for an Ecobee, which works perfectly. Please close this. I didn't reopen it. 🙂
