Bought a Condo with a Nest Thermostat. We do not have the PIN and there is no wifi so we can’t use the app. How can we get past the PIN requirement???

The PIN was set either by the management company or the previous tenant. Just contact your property management company and ask them to unlock it replace it.

Thanks so much for your response. It’s a privately owned condominium and the previous owner is deceased, so there nobody to ask. 😞

@TimBur , you going have to supply proof of property ownership, the name of the previous owner. You will need to open a support ticket with Google. Once they approve it, they will send you instructions and some special software you will need to reset that specific nest thermostat.

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide this response. The process was way too onerous, as we were without air conditioning. We came up with a far simpler solution: rip the Nest off the wall, throw it in the garbage, and replace it with a simple, old-fashioned thermostat. Done, and done and happy!

Hey Zoe - thanks for checking back. We simply didn't have the time or fortitude to jump through all the required hoops... it was impossibly hot. We paid an a/c contractor to remove the Nest and install a normal thermostat. The condo is cool and we're cool.
