Nest Screen Timeout

I want to be able to look at my thermostat from across the room and see what the temperature is. The screen keeps going off. Is there no way to keep it turned on? My old $30 thermostat from 2004 could do this...

If I get up and walk towards it, it comes on immediately.

It is by design.  It does not stay on all the time.

Hi all, thanks for the help. I just returned the Nest - kind of crazy my ancient thermostat had this function but this brand new high-tech gadget does not.
