Nest Sensor offline

Sensor suddenly went offline and can’t seem to get it to connect to the thermostat.  Changed the battery.  Moved it right next to the thermostat and still won’t work.  Any thoughts?

Hello RKL,

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your Nest Temperature Sensor and Nest Thermostat connectivity. I understand when things don't work as expected., but here are a few suggestions to troubleshoot the problem:

  1. Even if you moved the sensor close to the thermostat, there might still be interference or signal range issues. Make sure there are no obstructions blocking the signal path, and try different locations to ensure a clear connection.
  2. Reset the sensor by leaving the batteries out for at least 5 minutes before plugging them back in. After resetting, attempt to reconnect it to the thermostat.
  3. Ensure that your thermostat is connected to the Wi-Fi network. Restart it to refresh.
  4. Follow the re-pairing process outlined in the user manual for both the sensor and thermostat. Sometimes, devices need to be unpaired and then paired again to establish a stable connection.
  5. If all fails, perform an Account Connection reset on your thermostat. This will disconnect it from the Wi-Fi network and unlink it to your account.
  6. Reestablish it in the Nest app and proceed by adding the sensor back.

I hope these suggestions help resolve your connectivity issue.

Warm regards,
Mark
