Nest Server issues (Wifi?)

Endlessknight

Greetings,

I installed a Google Nest and everything seemed fine but now, a few hours later, the Google home apps says the Nest is "Offline" but both the Nest itself and my wifi router states that it's connected.  I have tried multiple restarts of both my phone and the Nest but nothing has changed. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

An update.

I removed my Google home account from the device and re-set up. Everything appeared to be working fine. I removed and readded the thermostat to Alexa. Ten minutes later I'm right back where I started. Both Google home and Alexa states the Thermostat is offline while the thermostat itself and my router says its connected. And as an added wrinkle the Nest app will not load, it gets stuck on the "loading" screen,

This is obviously a server-side problem. Is there anything I can do but return it?

Another update.

Factory reset the Nest. Set everything back up again. IT was all working fine until I tried to log into the Nest app with my Google credentials. The app stays on the loading screen and the Google home app once again states that the thermostat is offline.

I have the same problem. Nest app & Google home saying the thermostat is offline. I've got it right here with me on my desk on a stand and it's definitely online. I've tried resetting the wifi. Strange thing is I have farsight set to weather and it can't get an update either.

Are you able to log into the Nest app?

I can log in, but says my thermostat is offline. It's not, it's right here next to me and connected to wifi.

There may be issues with Nest according to the recent down detector report: https://downdetector.co.uk/status/google-nest/

Thanks for the info. I have the added wrinkle of migrating a previous Nest account to Google. Not sure how that's effecting things.

If there are problems with the servers I wish Google would make a public statement about it along with an eta for a fix.

Hi folks,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with controlling your Nest Thermostat using the app. To isolate the issue, please try the steps on this link.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Edward

Have tried all the steps listed. Have narrowed the issue down to the Alexa Google Nest skill. If I enable the skill the thermostat becomes unresponsive in both the Google Home app and the Alexa app. I then have re setup the thermostat to get it to work again. Everything works fine as long as I don't enable the Google skill, but I need Alexa integration and the thermostat was advertised as working with Alexa
