Nest Thermostat blinking green for days and no display despite charging and reset

I came home a few days ago, and my display on my nest thermostat was turned off and refused to respond, and the light was blinking green. I took it off, charged overnight, reconnected and still the same thing constantly blinking green even after trying a reset, where the orange light would blink once and go straight back to blinking green. Display will not turn on so I cannot do a hard reset. The app shows it as off-line whether it is connected or not. Any idea how to fix this?

Hi folks,

Uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that your thermostats are not responding—let's see what's going on. A few questions:

  1. Are you located in North America or Europe?
  2. What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  3. When did the situation first occur?
  4. If the thermostat was recently installed, what is the make and model of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment?
  5. Are the power breakers on, and do you receive power to your home?
  6. Is the thermostat's display seated properly?
  7. Are all the wires of your thermostat seated firmly in its terminals (with no loose or exposed wires)?
  8. Did you use a micro-USB cable to charge the thermostat display?
  9. Did you confirm that the micro-USB cable you used is also working on another device?
  10. Did you plug the thermostat display into a working outlet?

I'll look forward to your responses.

Best,

Zoe

I have a learning second generation thermostat. It was installed around Aug of 2018 and this is the first time I am having problem. It has been off now for 3  weeks! I tried resetting my router; switch off and on the breaker; charge the thermostat on a USB charger. Yes I live in California.

we have a Lennox system.
all other appliances requiring WiFi are working perfectly.
