Nest Thermostat - need replacement - W5 error

FrustratedNest

I am requesting a replacement for the known w5 error.  I have run through all the various troubleshooting online numerous times and Nest Thermostat no longer sees any wifi networks.  Display indicates w5 error and I am unable to resolve with any online direction.  Please advise as to next steps.

I was able to find the # finally…  855-469-6378.  They’re sending a replacement.  Hope that helps!

I’m dealing with the same issue. Can’t find a way to connect with a human to get this resolved.

Hello Jake

I have been having the same w5 error on my nest thermostat. I have done all of the troubleshooting, I’ve even manually tried inputting my Wi-Fi network and password and it still won’t connect. Just continues to give me the same error message and won’t pull up any other Wi-Fi network. Can you please help. Thank you.

This approach worked.  If you've gone through all the troubleshooting steps and still get the W5 error - go this route for a replacement.

Hi All,

I also had the same issue. Thanks FrustratedNest above for sharing the number which is not available on their website. After a 10-min talk, they're sending a replacement free of charge even though the warranty is expired. No one is able to say why this is happening so frequently but I believe it is hardware related, so they wave the charges. Fingers crossed the next one will last.
