Nest Thermostat not controlling heating

Hi All

I’ve got an elderly Nest Thermostat (probably a V1) that was installed by British Gas years ago when they were doing a supply and fit deal for £99.

It’s been working perfectly until the last week or so when I noticed it was taking ages to turn the heating on remotely using the app on my IOS phone and also my iPad. Before that as I increased the temp the screen would go Orange within seconds, now it can take 30 seconds or longer. Yesterday both by phone and iPad wouldn’t connect to Nest as it said my router was switched off (it wasn’t) and finally my boiler kicked in around 1am last night to heat the house up. When I checked the app it showed the heating was set to 10 degrees (I never have heating on at night) and inside temp was 14. The screen on my phone/iPad and the Nest Controller all were grey and not showing that heating was on. The only way I could turn heating off was by turning the boiler off at the wall.

It’s been ok this morning but I wondered if anyone else had similar issues or whether my Nest or Heatlink are dead?

thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. After resetting the device, it seems to be fully working again.
