I am installing the Nest onto the Google home app, when it gets to the finishing up step, it says "something is wrong" and asks to try again or exit setup. It gives no error code, and just keeps saying the same thing when getting to the same step. I have reset it multiple times, and created a new home. I have no other devices in my google home app. The Nest help desk was not able to help either, they are still currently researching. The thermostat is connected to my account and WiFi just not appearing in the app.

my problem exactly. thermostat says it is connected to my account, it reports wifi is fine, but Google Home app just goes through this loop. I've restarted everything (modem / phone / nest) several times and have also factory reset the nest 2x and gone through setup again. it is still doing the same thing

I received a calll back from them. This is a known issue, and they said it should be fixed within the next 48 hours. You will have to reinstall but it will work eventually.

OriolesFan2131 ... did it work for you after 48 hours? I am waiting to hear to try mine. Wondering if we have to contact support for them to reset ... and THEN wait 48 hours 🙂

Mine worked after 48 hours. Factory reset and went through the steps again.

Did a factory reset, started adding again, it completed this time with several more steps than previously. All connected now! yay!

Hey folks,
Sorry for the delay but thanks everyone for keeping the thread updated.
Yes, there have been several reports about users unable to add Google Nest devices on their Google Home or Nest app but this should already be resolved now. If you're still unable to add your devices to the app, please force close then reopen it before trying again.
Best,
Melba
