Sometimes nest works and sometimes it just leaves the nest .It doesn't work.Message says connect to base.if I touch it it shuts down.Very aggravating and by the by It is - 25 C here thus morning with no heat. Iam livid.I thought I did the right thing by buying this now Iam embarrassed to say maybe not.Iam 70 years old and I can't afford to buy another one at +300 or more dollars.I have checked the wires ,they are ok.Checked the air filter it is ok.Everything is ok .Just the Bird left the Nest.Nothing Works.

Hello blackgld,

Oh no! I'm sorry if you have to go through this. We'd like you to have a better experience, and I'd love to know more about this.

It appears that your thermostat's battery is low. A few questions: could you please tell us more about what happened? Are you getting any message codes or wiring reports? Also, please give these steps a try:

  1. Make sure the thermostat display is properly seated.
  2. Inspect the 20-pin connector for any visible damage. Examine the male and female ends of the base and the display.
    1. Make sure the pins are straight and in good condition.
  3. Reseat the wires.
    1. Turn off the power to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system and reseat all the wires.
  4. Restart the thermostat by pressing and holding the screen for 10 seconds until it shuts down.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Mark
