Nest Thermostat unable to find any WiFi networks

Hello

After having my Nest Thermostat installed, I tried to continue with the setup of the app etc and that’s where I encountered the first hurdle. The thermostat does not detect any WiFi networks.

I followed the troubleshooting guides however these did not help.

Additionally I tried a mobile hotspot right next to the thermostat but that network was not detected either. The router is in the living room and the nest is located in the hallway so it’s not like they’re at the opposite ends of the house. 

Is there an issue with the product itself? Am I missing something obvious?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

If it doesn't detect any Wi-Fi networks at all, even after restarting the thermostat, I'd recommend contacting the Google Nest support team directly.

1. Go to Contact Us - Google Nest Help
2. Select an appropriate product or category, type a brief description of the issue, then click Next.
3. Click Other, then click Next step.
4. In the Resources section, click Next step.
5. Choose to get a phone call, call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.
