I had 2 thermostats installed yesterday by a technician from my HVAC company. For one, he installed the nest c wire power adapter to the furnace as it is an older system without the c wire. That one is working fine. On the other, for some reason, he did not install the c wire adapter and while it is working I am getting the N261 error message and when I go to the settings it shows the c wire as grayed out. What should I do considering it is working fine?

Hi mbrundo,
On the Nest thermostat, E297, N260, or N261 errors may be present before the correct installation of the Nest Power Connector. Your thermostat needs a C wire
Check this link for the steps covering the following help codes: E1, E297, N261, N260.
