I had my Nest for 1.5 years and today i got home and the house was burning hot like a sauna. I went to check on the thermostat that was set to 22C . but the furnace (Alt heat) was on and the house was at 29C. It said no network and and saw the dreaded W5 code it displayed. I still followed all the instructions but i couldn't get it to work. Winter is approaching fast here in Quebec. Please advise.

Did your unit recently update to firmware version 6.2-22? If so, that could be the cause of your issues.

Thanks for your reply, but i'm still on version 6.1.1xx. Its been a week and I'm still waiting for my replacement.

Google Oked my replacement. They put a "hold" on my CC for the full price of the device until i return the old one. A week later nothing. I contacted them today for an update. The agent said they don't know if it was sent and had no other information for me. He would escalate my case and i will get a reply in 5 business days. so that's TWO WEEKS!! before i know IF the device was sent to me.
Now the broken Nest is using "alt heat/ Gas furnace" to heat when its +10C on a dual energy system.
Had i known it was this ridiculous for a replacement. I'd throw this one in the garbage and bought a new one. Now i'm stuck because they have my $ and will only give my $ back when i return the old one. GREAT GOOGLE!
