Nest app problems

I was trying to hook up my thermostat to Alexa and now the app does not show me the temperature or allow me to adjust the temp.  It shows me home but that is all.  I have tried logging out and logging back in.  I have tried rebooting my phone and the thermostat.  I have tried to add the thermostat but it will not show me the code as it says it is already attached.  Please help!!

I think you're saying you can no longer see your thermostat in the Nest app? If that's the case, here's how to fix it:

  1. Create a new home in the Home app:
Share a home and devices in the Google Home app - Google Nest Help
  2. Go back to the previous home by tapping the name of the home at the top.
  3. Tap your thermostat, then tap the settings cog at the top right.
  4. Tap "Device information" then tap "Home".
  5. Change the home to the new one you just created.

This should add the thermostat icon to the app in the new home. You can move other devices from your previous home to the new one by following the same steps above. The only thing you can't do that with is Google Wifi or Nest WIfi, which would need to be reset and setup again in the new home.

If you're experiencing problems with the Nest app, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check Internet Connectivity: Ensure that your device has a stable internet connection. Try accessing other apps or websites to verify if your internet connection is working properly.

  2. Restart the Nest App: Close the Nest app completely and then reopen it. This simple step can resolve temporary glitches or issues with the app.

  3. Update the Nest App: Make sure you have the latest version of the Nest app installed on your device. Check for app updates in your device's app store and install any available updates.

  4. Restart Your Device: Sometimes, restarting your smartphone or tablet can resolve app-related issues. Turn off your device, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

  5. Clear App Cache and Data: If the Nest app continues to malfunction, try clearing the app's cache and data. Go to your device's Settings,

Thank you for your help.  I ended up going with the nuclear option and wiping the nest thermostat and delinking it to my phone app. Works great now!  Thanks for all your help!
