My thermostat and heat link will not connect. Thermostat is giving help code H71.
Heat Link is continuously flashing blue (slow pluse) I have reset both thermostat and heat link (short reset 10 seconds and factory reset 30 secs) but still just flashing blue light. No other colour.

Sounds like you've already tried some good steps! How far is your heat link from the thermostat?
I would check that there isn't anything physically between the heat link and thermostat, like a large mirror or refrigerator. Large objects made of metal or other dense materials are really good at blocking wireless signals. Also check the heat link isn't close to other electronic devices that cause wireless interference, such as cordless phones, baby monitors, microwave ovens, or wireless security cameras. If you have any of those types of devices, try turning off these devices one by one to see if your thermostat and heat link are then able to establish a wireless connection. If one of these devices is causing interference, try moving it further away from the heat link or thermostat if possible and then recheck the connection.

Thank you for the suggestions but the thermostat is directly below the heat link and have turn the power off to everything in the house but the power to the thermostat and heat link and the WiFi router ( which is at the other side of the room)

I assume you have a matched pair system? Have you ever replaced either part? The reason could be if you have they will never talk to each other, as they are now not a factory set. You will have to get the Heat Link 6 digit code, and click Replace Heat Link at the H71 screen.
An easy way to check if you have a matched pair or not is, at the H71 screen, look in Tech Info - Heat Link. See what the 6 digit code is, then check with the Heat Link you have. The code shown at the H71 screen should be your Heat Link, but if a non matched pair that will be different.
Hope that makes sense?

Thanks but unfortunately I have exhausted this avenue also.. I am now lost for solutions other than to replace the units.

You obviously have tried all methods.
I assume you have a hard wired connection, and not just relying on a wireless connection?

Hi @Luke_ire , thanks for reaching out here. I am sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your device and I would be happy to try and assist.
Thank you for your suggestions @Frustratedddd and @David_K, always appreciated.
Just to check, is this a new installation so they were never connected or where they connected and working as expected and then this happened? If the second, how long has it been installed before this behavior occurred?

Hi, I wanted to check in. Do you still need assistance? If so, make sure to let me know.

Hi Alex, these devices were installed and connected over 2 years ago. This occurred when the WiFi network router was plugged out and moved for Xmas decorations etc. But now everything is back where it originally was and the 2 have yet to pair up again. I have a second set for a different zone and they are still paired and reconnected once the WiFi was connected again.

Gotcha. The connection to the Heat Link is different from the Wi-Fi. So even if the location has not Wi-Fi, the connection to the Heat Link should be maintained. There are a few things we can try to see if we can get them paired again. First, just to confirm is your thermostat on a stand or is it mounted on the wall?

It is on a stand on the counter in front of the heat link (<5cm away)

Ok let us try some steps next.
1. Take the display off the base and squeeze it in your hands for about 10 seconds. It will turn off and back on again. Repeat this 2 more times.
2. Place it back on the stand, make sure it is plugged in, and wait for the thermostat to boot. It will try and reconnect at this point.
3. If it does not connect, go to the option Replace Heat Link and select it. It will ask you for a paring key, don't put it in just yet.
4. Press and hold the button on the Heat Link for 25 seconds, let go and do it one more time. Also take down the paring key, it is on the cover next to the screw that holds the cover on.
5. Put the paring key in on the display and see if it pairs after or still does not.

Hi there, just checking in with you. Did you manage to check the previous steps?
