Nest learning 3rd generation. Had a very brief power outage and the stat showed E79 loss of power

Hello had a brief power outage and the stat displayed the E79 code saying no power to C common wire. I removed the stat and did check power between Rh and C had the proper voltage. So I turned off power to the furnace then turned it back on and the stat went back to normal. Does anyone know why this thermostat fails like that. Thanks

Hi Onellie,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you had an issue with your Nest Thermostat after having a power outage. Right now we can't tell why it showed the message. It could be a minor glitch. I would suggest observing it for now and let us know if anything comes up.

Thanks,

Edward

Hello Ed yes I have been watching this issue with the Nest Learning and it has done this each time that the house has a brief power outage.which has been 4 times this year. Before this stat I had the Nest E. Which was good never had any error come thru when the power would go off. I believe The Learning stats have some flaw with their program. Thanks John
