Nest learning thermostat

My thermostat has stopped working. I have a green flashing light on the top that will occasionally flash orange but then back to green. I only have a black screen and can't get anything to pop up on it. I took it off of the platform and had it onnthe charger all night and still the same outcome. Even when it's on the charger I have the same outcome. I just hooked this up Jan of 2020 so I can't imagine the thermostat being dead and if so that's a waste of money. Can anyone help me with this?!

Nest can help you!!

However, place your ear very close as in touching the display, and can your hear a clicking/buzzing?

I'm having the same problem.  Green flashing light, display won't turn on unless it's charging.  I can hear a clicking sound when the green light flashes

There you go problem solved, duff thermostat!! Your processor has gone faulty. The sound is like a chattering clicking noise.

Nest NEVER ask that question as they are unaware of it.

I expect if you plug a USB into the back of the display you power up to a screen with writing, when on the base nothing just a blank screen and clicking?

There is a way to sometimes get it working, and that is to smack it hard in the palm of your hand. You may have to do it a few times, but if that doesn't work your out of luck. Keep it plugged into the base plate by the way.

Smacking it isn't working. Dang looks like I am out of luck.  Thanks though frustratedddd.  Hopefully there's a cheaper thermostat out there that can use the same wiring or something similar

Worth a go.

Now do the simple thing and ring Nest, tell them you have a blank screen after a factory reset, and now you cannot work your thermostat.
