Nest thermostat brain surgery

Hello

im on the verge of ripping this piece of equipment out! I’ve been on this forum a couple of times. I’ve attached a an image of help I’ve received recently and of what I’m seeing on my app home screen . Unfortunately as I don’t find google account that easy to use I’ve missed the opportunity to reply. I’m still no further forward with gaining access to my nest controls remotely. I can access the app and I can see the thermostat and app are connected. After that I’m at a loss. Thanks very much 😭

Hey there,

 

Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. Do you mind me asking which type of Nest Thermostat you own? Have tried migrating your account to the Google Home app? If you have a newer model, you may need to set up the device in the Google Home app to view. Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Hi Dan. Thanks for persisting with me. I’ve actually had a family emergency and not been able to get on here. I’ve tried a number of steps. I’ve tried uninstalling the app. Turning off the thermostat completely. I was thinking it had something to do with the account. I’ve tried resetting the account but I end up going around in circles. It definitely something to do with the account. I’ll try again tomorrow night and run through what’s happening if that’s ok. Thanks again for your help

It's me again, and I'm sorry to hear that you still haven't retrieved your access with your thermostat in the Nest app. Let's find out more about what happened.

 

You might have used a different email to your thermostat. If you have another email account, please try to sign in and let us know if that works.

Hi thanks for this tip about different google accounts. I appear to have two different gmail accounts (news to me lol). I also don’t think I had migrated my nest account.  I think I’ve done these two things now. Anyways after a year and a half (0r longer actually lol)  I’ve finally managed to get access to my thermostat!!! Amazing!! Thank you 🙏
