Thermostat compatibility?

The heating system has 2 wires, Red and White. The current thermometer is wired using R + a jumper to RC and the second wire to W. I cannot get the new thermostat to work?

Hello Verbrupe, can you do us a favor and upload a picture of your old thermostat. And upload picture of the Nest thermostat backplate showing the wires connected.
Now, when you say you can’t get the thermostat to work, have you installed the thermostat using the Nest app? Your system is a heating only system. Connecting R to W will cause the heating system to start up.

What model of Nest thermostat did you purchase and attempt to install?

What type of heating system do you have?
