I recently got a new internet provider. I was able to get everything on the new wifi. I removed the thermostat from the home app. When I try to put it back I get to the end and it says connected something went wrong. We couldn't save your changes. Try again. When I hit try again it says you may need to factory reset this device. It's not in the app anymore though so I'm not sure how to factory reset it

Hi Evieshoe,
Sorry to hear about your experience with your Nest thermostat. Let's check it further.
Just to confirm — is this a new Nest Thermostat that needs to be installed through the Google Home app? If yes, please check the step by step guide here on how to have it reset: https://bit.ly/3moipVu

It's not a new thermostat. We changed our wifi and the directions were to uninstall and reinstall which we are trying to do. When we are trying to do the reinstall we get an error. It says connected and then we couldn't save your changes. Try again. Since it was removed from the app I can't go and fix it in the app.

Hey there,
Thanks for these added details and sorry for the delay. Have you tried the steps on the link I provided above to have the thermostat reset first?
