Hi Mian797,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues with your Nest thermostat. Don’t worry; help’s here.

A few questions: what model of Nest thermostat do you have? Is there an available personal computer (Windows, macOS, or ChromeOS) and a USB cable that you can connect to the back of the thermostat display?

While the thermostat display is locked, you won’t be able to reset the device. If you have the Nest Thermostat E or the Nest Learning Thermostat (2nd gen and 3rd gen), follow the steps below:

  1. Remove the thermostat display from its base.
  2. Insert the USB cable into the USB port on the back of the thermostat display, and attach the thermostat display to a computer with the use of the USB cable.
  3. Locate and open the folder or icon for the Nest device that should appear on the computer screen. For macOS, open the Finder icon or press the cmd key + search bar to locate the Nest folder.
  4. If the Nest folder or icon doesn't show up, use a different port, USB data cable, or computer, if available. Another option is to restart the computer.
  5. Open the Nest folder and check if the technicalinfo.PLIST file is visible.

Let me know how it goes.

All the best,

Lance
