Installed my nest thermostat today, yay! It’s working, but I’m unable to connect it to my google home app to control via phone. I’ve done all trouble shooting as suggested from the help page in the set up process, yet it still not working. Any other suggestions?

I've been trying to do the same. Brand new thermostat works fine on Nest app. Won't connect to Google home because it wants to link Nest account to Google and the authentication doesn't work. My nest account is new so it's basically already a Google account so do not have credentials for a nest account. Have you managed to find a way round that?

I had to do a factory reset on the thermostat itself and try again…and it worked!

Nice one, congrats! I tried that on mine, but no dice. Same thing happens. If I scan the barcode from home app it says no configuration exists for the device. Nest app connects just fine but then no google home app.

Hi folks,
I'm dropping by to see how I could help.
@Mgcox10, thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that you've successfully set up your Nest thermostat to the Google Home App. If there’s anything else I can help you with, please let us know.
@AlexTill, I'm sorry to hear that you're also having an issue adding your Nest thermostat to the Google Home App. To clarify, could you tell us which Nest thermostat you have? Here's your reference.
Looking forward for your response.
Thanks,
Mark

Hi, thanks for checking up on this.
I gave up on trying and the next day it appeared in home on it's own. No idea how our why but I won't complain!
Works fine now. Maybe it takes time for the accounts to sync.

Thanks for letting us know that your Nest thermostat is now showing up in both the Nest app and the Google Home app. I understand it's confusing with what happen, but I'm glad that you can now use both apps to access and control your thermostat.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns as I will be locking this thread in 24 hours.
