Nest thermostat temperature jumps up

Byrne91
Community Member

I have my AC on and the temperature set to 70 on my nest. I live in Texas and it is hot. During the day it jumps up to 82 degrees and when I lower it it says it will take 2hrs to cool off. I have a schedule set. Why is it getting so hot

Is it possible that you have Home/Away Assist turned on?  If so, and if your Eco temperature is set at 82, this could explain the behavior you're seeing.  Lots of people report that their Nest has difficulty distinguishing whether they're home or away.  If Home/Away Assist is on, try turning it off.

Hi Byrne91,

Thanks for reaching out and we're sorry for the delay.

We'd like to know if you've tried to turn off the Home/Away Assist and check if it is still the same behavior.

Thanks for your help, CBFox.

Best regards,

Ryan
