I am having a hard time wiring my Nest thermostat. Here is a picture of the current wiring. Where should each wire go in the Nest base?

Hey Jim,

Wiring can be a little confusing. I would be more than happy to assist you and ensure you are good to go. I would recommend following this article if you are unsure on how to install your device, as it will provide you with more details. If you are still unsure from there, I would recommend having a Nest Pro come out and take a closer look at your system. They would be able to double-check and install the device for you no problem. Please let me know if that helps or if you have any other questions from here.

The article does not say what to do with the black, brown, and orange wires....

Hello Gz071,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I'd love to help.

Do you need help with your thermostat's wiring configuration? If so, please share with us a clear photo of it so we can see how we can label it with the Nest Thermostats. Also, to check its compatibility, tell us the make and model of your HVAC system.

I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,
Mark
