I have a brand new 3rd gen nest thermostat, (said low batteries out of the box, which was disappointing). Replaced batteries immediately, worked fine for 1-2 days, then lost WiFi and said batteries low. Installed power adapter, replaced batteries again, worked for 2 days and again says batteries very low.
All but impossible to run a new wire from the system due to a fully finished basement. What do I need to do here? I would like to be able to leave my house for a few days at a time before having to worry about the batteries dying.
