I have a Nest 2nd gen T-stat which suddenly lost the Wi fi connection with a W2 error. I charged the unit and did a reset to factory spec but cannot connect. It does not like my SSID password. I rebooted the router and disabled MAC filtering but still does not connect. It sees my SSSID as well as a few others.

I cannot see the MAC address of the stat in my listed of connected devices because the latter is not connected. I found a simpler solution: in my nest app on my iPad, I clicked the + button to add a new device. It asked me to input the numbers found on the settings-NestApp-Network. I added that number in the near app on my IPad and paired instantly. Wasted more than a day to stumble on this solution.
best.
